Hello, I am Sílvia Roig, born in Vilafranca del Penedès some years ago already, I have lived all my life on this wonderful land, located in a privileged place. Surrounded by vineyards, 15 minutes from the sea, 45 minutes from Barcelona and 2 hours from the Pyrenees.
My first contacts with vineyards were when I was very young. My family had a farmhouse surrounded by vineyards and I was playing there with my brothers and my cousins. We patiently waited for the harvesters to finish to rush in to the fields with our baskets to find all the grapes that had been left. We could spend hours there…… Crushing the grapes with our feet and doing “wine”.
Later, life took me on other paths but, about the 12 years ago I returned to my origins, by the hand of a great family winery that awaked my passion for my home land and it’s vineyards. These were also, my first steps into the world of Wine Tourism.
I’ve got my education in diffrent fiels as related to wine tourism, sensory analysis of wines and cavas, viticulture, among others. Master’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, my training has been continued over the years. At the same time my experience was growing and growing and my will to share my passion for the world of wine turned out into this project: Cal Roig – Unique Wine Experience. A room dedicated to the world of wine, for you to enjoy and it doesn’t matter what your level of knowledge is.
Since July 2019 we have also 4 rooms avalable in our lovely house to make your stay in our countru a complete and unforgetable experience.
